Deposit Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for certain duties within the Deposit Operations department. These include but are not limited to servicing and maintaining deposit accounts. This position provides support for a wide range of functions in all areas within the bank.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for monitoring and addressing all non-post, Exception Processing, stop payments, or NSF items on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for completing all department duties within the attached rotation schedule.
  • Responsible for answering phones and returning all messages timely.
  • Responsible for processing foreign items and returned mail.
  • Responsible for assisting with debit card matters including but not limited to maintenance, hot cards, limit increases, etc.
  • Process chargeback’s, ACH items, Wire Transfers, ACH and ATM Disputes.
  • Responsible for verifying that signatures on all wires are within the proper signing authority limits and policy is followed.
  • Process daily account maintenance requests.
  • Responsible for processing and sorting daily reports.
  • Responsible for reviewing / editing new account documents and adding exceptions in Vision Content.
  • Create or maintain a detailed and accurate procedure on all work responsibilities (save on the shared drive).
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the Bank’s customers.
  • Remain current and adhere to all regulatory requirements and training.
  • Responsible for processing branch capture adjustments and review / decision of mobile deposits.
  • Responsible for providing back up to all other Deposit Operations Specialists as needed.
  • Perform all other duties within the scope of the department.

  • Proficient with the FIS Connect system and all electronic communications used in Deposit Operations.
  • Effectively communicate orally, in writing and with written procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to complete task within an established timeframe
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
